Abstract | The paper describes the complete digital implementation of a TMS320C50 and Xilinx XC7372 (EPLD) based PWM AC/DC/AC converter to meet the stringent IEC specifications. The primary emphasis of the paper is on the practical problems related to the implementation and their solutions. The space vector modulation based system, having the capability to change the PWM frequency scheme dynamically and adaptively control the phase, was tested with a motor drive (instead of passive loads only) and the results demonstrated that the system meets the specifications of less than 5{%} THD on line current, near unity power factor, and less than 5{%} variation on bus voltage satisfactorily |
