Abstract | In this paper, dynamic programming is applied to forthcoming medium voltage direct current (MVDC) substations which have a mixture of power sources, renewable energy, and storage. Technical changes in the substation due to the dc equipment, efficiency of the substation, and protective measures are major aspects to consider in the MVDC development. The paper demonstrates how dynamic programming can minimize daily operating cost of a substation by means of local storage. |
